In late 2016, the debt management team at the World Bank Treasury sought to deepen its skill set by learning from counterparts in client countries. Fritz Bachmair from the GDRM Program went on assignment to the South African National Treasury with the Asset Liability Management team, and at the UK Debt Management Office (DMO). In return, debt managers from the UK DMO came to Washington, DC to spend time at the World Bank Treasury with the Government Debt and Risk Management team.
